Time is something that you can use, waste, spend, or manage. However, it is also a commodity that you cannot get back. Once it’s gone….it’s gone. There is no rewind or undo. We all get the same twenty-four hours in a day, so the question is ‘how well do you spend your time?’
I remember attending a business conference a few years ago listening to this phenomenal speaker, Allyson Byrd also known as the “Profit Accelerator.” As she had touched on topic of business owners becoming an employee of their own company, she asked a rhetorical question, “Why waste dollar time on penny tasks?”
As business owners we focus on every little detail of our business ranging from our vision and goals, to operation and tasks, and we often find ourselves trying to do it all. This leads to the common mistake many business owners make, working in their business instead of running it. There are many different reasons that this may happen including lack of resources and/or funds to hire and pay someone else, the logic that there is no reason to hire someone to do something you can do yourself, or the thought that you are saving money by simply doing it yourself. This reasoning may be a little understanding to a certain extent in the beginning phase of your business, however, as you continue to develop it would be best to consider other options to achieve true growth. Lets address the rationale.
[table id=1 /]As a business owner you should never lose sight on the big picture which includes your vision and goals, business processes, data, traction, people, problems, and solutions. Assess your business and determine what tasks can be eliminated, and what tasks should be delegated. Leverage the skills of a virtual assistant who will tenaciously execute the tasks necessary to maintain business operations and achieve growth, while saving you time and money. AVA believes that your time is everything and every moment of your time matters, so I will conclude this post asking you the same question… “Why waster dollar time on penny tasks?”
